ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING

The Environmental Planning Division is a highly interdisciplinary team that plays a critical role in safeguarding Tribal resources, ensuring sustainable development and promoting ecological integrity. This division is dedicated to integrating environmental considerations into all phases of planning to support Tribal interests, including land use and management of Tribal-trust resources on and off the Reservations.

Duties performed by the Environmental Planning Division are implemented through the Seminole Tribe’s Wildlife Conservation Plan (WCP), a comprehensive book of conservation guidelines approved by Tribal Council, as well as associated Tribal policies. The WCP provides survey and monitoring protocols for all threatened and endangered species that have the potential to occur on Tribal lands. The Environmental Planning Division is integral to balance the Tribe’s growth and development with the vision of sustaining Tribal resources for future generations.
