MOSQUITO SPRAYING

Mosquito control professionals conduct mosquito surveillance, look for places where mosquitos lay eggs, control mosquito larvae and pupae, control adult mosquitos, and monitor control efforts.

Mission


Protecting the public health and comfort of the Tribe through the control of disease-carrying and nuisance mosquitos.

Program Tasks


  • Uphold and enact the Integrated Mosquito Management Plan (IMMP)
  • Enhance mosquito biology and the mosquito life cycle understanding to better manage mosquitos
  • Enact safe and scientifically-proven methods to reduce the number of mosquitos
  • Schedule ground sprayers for reservations based on weather, mosquito counts, and scheduled outdoor events
  • Mosquitos are collected and tested from weekly light traps and vector tests are performed for West Nile, Eastern equine encephalitis, and Saint Louis encephalitis.
